5 July 2025, 4-6pm, all are welcome! Please register below to join. 🙂
This participatory workshop by Hany Tea explores how sound, voice, and deep listening can serve as artistic refusal – empowering BIPoC, queer, and marginalised individuals to reclaim space, disrupt imposed narratives, and challenge systems of exclusion. Through improvisation, storytelling, and collective vocal experimentation, we will investigate the ways in which sonic practices can resist erasure, hold memory, and offer solidarity in times of crisis. Drawing from deep listening techniques, embodied voice work, and experimental sound-making, participants will engage in exercises that explore noise, silence, and disruption as radical acts.Â
No prior sound experience is required — this space is open to all voices willing to experiment and play, with a priority for BIPOC and FLINTA participants.Â
Feel free to bring anything that makes sound — it doesn’t have to be a traditional instrument. This could be an object, a voice, a toy, or something from your daily life. We welcome all forms of sound-making, however unconventional.
