Perspectives on Black Multitudes

May 4 @ 7:00 pm - May 18 @ 7:00 pm CEST

Perspectives on Black Multitudes:
An Exhibition by AnouchK and Brook
->  Opening with the artists, a short presentation and Q&A on Saturday, 4 May at 7pm
-> Artist talk at the Finissage on Saturday 18 May at 6pm
-> Special guest for live event (TBA)
This exhibition is an invitation to discuss together what it means to be Black/Afro/Afrodescendant.
By exploring the many different ways of being Black, we want to open another space to discuss, share, question, learn, agree and disagree that we are diverse and complex.
It’s an exhibition about the past, the present and the future.
Our work is linked to personal memories, experiences and aspirations.
It reflects our perspectives and struggles while recognising the healing work we have done. It shows how we live our lives as Black individuals, searching for new narratives about ourselves. Our identities are fluid, in construction, in transformation, but not all the time… or ever.
In our work we want to show the love that Black people have and deserve to feel for each other.
AnouchK is Afro-Cuban and Congolese, living most of their life in Europe, Brook is Afro-Cuban German. For this exhibition, they have created sculptures and installations using natural objects, clay and concrete, and combining them with other materials.
Part of the exhibition, an installation titled “Embrace your Black Self Space” will be offered for Black people only. The rest of the exhibition is open to everyone. As always, cutie BIPOCs to the front! 🙂
