Look At My Mind, Floating Away is a select group of mixed media works spanning from 2020 to 2023. What started as a way to make something out of writer’s block, has become a collection of observation, curiosity and introspection. This series is a reflection of some of the thoughts decorating my mental apartment, and this exhibition is an invitation to come in.
So welcome, you, you and you. I’ve been having thoughts lately, and I wanted to share some of them with you. And from the moment I do, from the moment they come to life, they are no longer mine but ours.
Artist Bio:
My thoughts consume so much of my mental real estate, I used to think they’d spill out and someone would overhear them. I think a lot of people operate that way, in their heads carrying on unlikely conversations made up of things we wouldn’t say out loud. Trouble is, the things we usually keep to ourselves are often the most interesting and certainly the most honest.
What do I want to say with my art?
Everything. Anything. And sometimes nothing at all. I don’t aim to be original as much as I do relatable ; if anything I hope people look at my work and think “You know I’ve thought something similar before, I just never thought to say it out loud.”
