Heartbreak as Practice: Half-day Retreat with Sarah Naqvi

September 10, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm CEST

In this half-day retreat, we will meet with practices and techniques harnessing the powers of having a heart. A heart that feels, breaks, bends, shrinks, aches, and expands again. We will meet during the full moon in Pisces at the end of the summer, a time when we can come together to explore and embrace emotions overlooked during the vibrant heated summer months. It is an investigation and celebration of being receptive in a world that is constantly producing heartbreak, yet unable to recognize nor provide the environment of healing. We will explore what feeling and loving deeply during those times can bring to us and our communion.

During this three-hour-long workshop we will do somatic body practices that involve touch, exercises in vulnerability, writing, breathing, and resting.

It is advised to plan enough time ahead and after the workshop for emotional integration. Wear clothes you like moving in and eat something light in the morning. Bring something to write and something that is dear to you for us to create a little altar.

This workshop is FREE and will be limited to 6 participants. BIPoC folks to the front! 🙂

Sarah Naqvi’s practice is based on a trauma-informed understanding of the body-mind and aims to translate a critical awareness of power relations within her sessions and workshops.Sarah is a certified Pantarei Practitioner and is adding years of self-study, a background in political science, and informal teachings from her kin to the practice.
